"COOPER: 'I don't know where to start.'
HAWK: 'You're on the path. You don't need to know where it leads.
Just follow."(Dialogues in Twin Peaks)

"My name is Olivia Loiseau. A graduate of soft fabric design and tailored clothing, I now study silk screen printing at the Institut Bordelais de Stylisme Modélisme in Bordeaux, France. I am also a project manager and supervise several performance artists. My journey has taken me down a number of different artistic paths including fashion design, flamenco, theater and singing, and I love collaborating with other European and international artists. I am also an enthusiastic Contributor to the David Lynch Symposium, "The Uncanny," as well as other Lynchian events in Bordeaux and beyond.

When I was 10 years old I watched "The Elephant Man" and it left a undeniable mark on me. I developed a strong interest in various social issues that raise questions about human existence, our choices, behaviors, reactions and the force of character inside each of us.

Later, I immersed myself in the world of Twin Peaks and its story taught me to embrace a certain fearlessness. Beyond transgression, violence, and beautiful landscapes, David Lynch spurs us to go out beyond death. I believe that we all experience little deaths in our lives, that can lead us to not only go beyond ourselves, but also toward a larger vision of our existence revealed in our kindest and craziest acts. I went on to study astrology and the psychoanalysis of dreams and their symbols, and developed a certain curiosity for the "everything and nothingness" concept linked to the spiritual dimension.

I feel the way that certain episodes of Twin Peaks are staged allows us to see the cruelty expressed by certain characters from a distance. Whether one is playing the hero or the villain, the question is knowing how to lift the universal consciousness without remaining in one's own bubble. Badalamenti's soundtrack also guides us, marvelously nourishing this spirit. Often our habits, rituals, and worries in our daily life make us egocentric; we are not really open to listening to others, and this attitude unconsciously confuses and drains our minds.

I recently studied dramatic arts and musical comedy, and am currently studying masked performance, mime and the reading of poetic, classical and contemporary texts. Watching a documentary on the making of Twin Peaks, I could tell that David Lynch was an impressive director of actors. He doesn't expect that everything will happen his way, or that his actors will conform to every detail of how the scene was planned, because the actors are making a vital contribution. Every scene is authentic, which is how I try to live my life."
