Point de vue (Voix off in English) sur 3 Films de David LYNCH recueillit par Franck Cronogue Compositeur Londonien
THE ELEPHANT MAN
For me The Elephant Man was the first film I saw by
Lynch.
I was 10.
When I saw the human/ elephant pain, I felt deeply
guilty to witness
the moral and physical imprisonment he lived, since I
was powerless
to help him.
This is a powerful film, poignant with a great human
depth.
The Elephant Man stays deep within me.
This movie is a work of art, because Lynch brings a
deep reflection
on human beauty.
He finds true sensitivity in so called ugliness.
The Elephant Man symbolizes the rejection of his
fellow man with their own
moral and inner unacknowledged differences.
The ugliness and physical beauty are masks that would
be good to remove
and glimpse the real beauty, that is the largest and
most essential in a human being.
His heart and devotion.
MULHOLLAND DRIVE
Mulholland Drive was the second movie I saw and it was
a wonderful surprise to me.
A journey through dreams or hallucinations was very
intoxicating to me,
because the dreamlike dimension transcends the mind.
Mulholland Drive is such an endless film with so many
creations, until eventually
we arrive, breathless, and make his die created
patterns.
There is a timelessness governing the film and that is
what also attracted me to it.
This timelessness allows us to immerse ourselves in a
land of the unknown, Scary,
Surprising, but very attractive.
I have a favorite scene at the films end, when that
man appears against the wall and
looks at the camera. I could read his eyes "Well,
What? What's the matter? Are you afraid of what? Tell me..." This short
scene is a gem, a true spiritual gift.
This unknown, wandering and probably more innocent
than we imagined, and became in an instant as touching as a child lost.
What a beauty.
THE STRAIGHT STORY
As soon as I started watching The Straight Story I was
very touched by the Silent love Alvin had for his brother Lyle.
For me, the messages in this film are that love is the
bearer of creation, we have always been able to overcome odds by the love
it has given us.
Only with persistence with our own means will we
see the proof and a guarantee of a true love. It is love that governs our
being, through the unlimited efforts, sources of creation, encounters and our
connection with nature.
Love is everything and everywhere. For us to see,
touch, feel and of course at the end of the movie, share, we are on a spiritual
journey with Alvin without even having asked or thought about it.
Here's another gift from David Lynch.
